Royal String Quartet

New Album!

Over the course of 25 years, the Royal String Quartet has established itself as one of the most recognized interpreters of contemporary music. The ensemble enjoys close relationships with outstanding Polish composers who entrust it with performances of their latest works. The compositions by Krzysztof Penderecki (2013), Paweł Szymański and Paweł Mykietyn (2015) recorded by the quartet for the British Hyperion label were enthusiastically received by both the international audience and the journalists and critics.

The idea of RSQ's latest venture was to record an album that would contain music composed especially for the quartet by Paweł Mykietyn, Aleksander Nowak and Sławomir Wojciechowski, the premiere of which took place during the subsequent editions of the Kwartesencja Festival. The compositions have never been recorded before - the album released on CD Accord is their phonographic premiere.

Co-financing from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund - a state earmarked fund, as part of the "Musical Trace" program, available by the National Institute of Music and Dance.

The album was recorded thanks to the support of the "Pro Muzyka Nowa" Foundation.
